Connecting Talent from Underserved Communities through Skills for Chicagoland's Future | S2 E1

For episode 1 of Season 2, Jeff Lackey welcomes; Mark Hoplamazian, CEO of Hyatt and chair of Skills for Chicagoland's Future, Pam Tully, the chief program officer for Skills for Chicagoland's Future, and Daniel Cervantes, Senior Vice President, National Expansion and strategic Initiatives for Skills for Chicagoland's Future and the National Expansion Committee. The conversation focused on how CEOs and business leaders can access talent from low opportunity neighborhoods, how to access talent outside of the Chicago, Rhode Island and Phoenix markets, and how to get involved more broadly. Mark H., Pam T., and Daniel C. are all involved with Skills for Chicago Future, an organization dedicated to closing the opportunity gap and connecting those who are unemployed or underemployed to job opportunities. Through their efforts, they were able to impact over 20,000 people in 2021 and connect them to jobs. Their ultimate goal is to expand to 25 cities over the next 10 years and provide everyone with equitable access to a quality job.
